Birdwell awarded the Music Mark of Recognition for Ambition and Quality!

We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic news with our school community: our school has been awarded the Music Mark of Recognition for Ambition & Quality.

This recognition celebrates schools that place real value on music and are committed to providing high-quality music education for all children. It reflects our belief that music is not an “extra”, but a vital part of a rich, balanced curriculum that supports creativity, confidence, well being and self-expression.

Music Mark is the UK Association for Music Education, championing access to music for all children and young people. Being recognised by Music Mark, alongside the support of Barnsley Music Service, is a meaningful acknowledgement of the work taking place in our classrooms every day. It recognises the ambition we have for our pupils and the quality of the musical experiences they are offered.

Music Mark works to support high-quality musical and social outcomes for all children and young people and we are proud to be part of this collective vision.

I would like to thank our staff, pupils and wider school community for their continued commitment to music. Whether through singing, performing, composing or simply enjoying music together, these experiences matter and this award reflects that shared commitment.
